Nine days old!

Pups are gaining by leaps and bounds! Their noses are beginning to blacken and they are pretty mobile though they don't quite get up on their wobbly legs yet. Here are some photos. No names yet and some are not the greatest pix but I'll bring out my good camera for the next ones. I'm giving you their coloring and weights as well though it has little bearing on their final size, I've learned.
Puppy #1 is a female. Weighs 11 3/4 ounces. She has a small black spot on her side that you can see better in the group photo below.

Puppy #2 is a black and white male. Weighs 10 1/4 ounces

Puppy #3 is a black and white female. Weighs 11.5 ounces.

Puppy #4 is a male Irish Pied. He weighs 11 ounces.

Puppy #5 is a tan and white female. She's 7.5 ounces but strong as ever!

Puppy #6 is a female with sable and white coloring. She weighs 10 5/8 ounces.

Puppy #7 is a male, black and white. He weighs 10 ounces

Puppy #8 is a female with sable/white coloring. She weighs 8 7/8 ounces.

Yes, they are all in here, nursing to their heart's content. You can see the spot here on the middle one, Puppy #1.

We Have Puppies

Maxi whelped a wonderful litter of 5 girls and 3 boys on Monday. We are all still very busy with changing linens, nursing, weighing puppies and feedings for mom but thought we'd post a few photos to get the ball rolling!

Keeping Up

Just thought I'd share some photos of our puppies that their families have sent to me in the past few months. In the meantime, if you are looking for info about our next litter please check my website at www.carneyshaven.com.

Time to Go Home

Just wanted to post some fun photos of the puppies before we head back to Michigan. They are such bundles of joy! I don't normally keep my puppies this long but after enjoying these kids I just might change my thoughts on that. So much fun!!!

Hershey is our Mama's boy. Loves to hang with Phoebe

Oreo is as playful as a kitten. ALWAYS! Forget getting any sweeping or scrubbing done when she's around.

More tug-of-war. Left to right, Twix, Snickers, Hershey and Oreo

They played with this fleece toy for almost 20 minutes! A record.

Twix, the toughy.

Snickers and Taffy

I'm going to post photos of the pups in pairs so you can get a better look at them. Hoping to do a video tomorrow if I can get my camera to work!

Both these boys followed me around the yard so I had to do some running to get far enough ahead of them to get good shots. Of the two Taffy is slightly more independent. They both love to play but Snickers, as you can see, is big on finding "toys" around the yard.

This is Phoebe when she was 3 months old. Her face was even darker when she was born!
Now only her ears have black and the rest of her is cream colored.
The coloring in Taffy's face is becoming more highlighted with tan/silver markings, especially around his nose, chin and eyebrows. I posted a photo of Phoebe as a pup so you can all see how much a Havanese' coloring changes. The black usually stays but you rarely see an adult Havanese with brown markings unless its parents both carry the chocolate genes. Ours do not.

So, Taffy will likely stay as he is now with perhaps some more lightening around his face. The brown on Snickers will fade some, but the black highlights will likely remain dark.
